TEKKEN Hybrid PS3, Fan Overview

TEKKEN Hybrid Front Boxart
It’s a girl’s night out and I didn’t mind.

This will mostly be a overview of the TEKKEN Hybrid, but I’ll touch on other things as well.

TEKKEN Hybrid is currently the only way to get Tekken Blood Vengeance in high definition with 3D. The same goes for Tekken Tag Tournament if you want it in HD as well. Bundling them together was a good and unique idea, but there is no point in playing Tag HD if you already have Tekken Tag Tournament 2. Comes with a Tekken TT2 demo with blood vengeance theme, but as stated earlier… kind of pointless. Especially when you can get the Wii U edition or this bundle version.

Lets get a couple things straight about Tag HD. It is ugly and clunky. Certainly not the best looking HD remaster game I’ve seen.

Despite this, if you are still interested. As of 02-28-17, there is no real alternative method. The closest you can get is Tekken 3D Prime Edition for the Nintendo 3DS. Which is basically a touched up version of Tekken 6 from Playstation Portable.  Yet customers won’t have Tag HD and the movie is stuck on a SD card.

Now back to talking about TEKKEN Hybrid. Keep in mind you can play the movie with any blu ray player. It doesn’t have to be a PS3 unless you want to play the games. Buyers will have all 3 products on 1 blu ray disc (no digital code needed). The 2 games will need to make a install onto your Playstation 3 though.

Not really much to say about the movie itself. It is your average anime movie, with some great graphics, music, and action. It just doesn’t have enough spark to want me to give it above 3 stars. Obviously Blood Vengeance has its’ shining moments. Yet overall it is so meh. That I can’t even dedicate a entire fan review for it.

The pacing was bad and the viewers need to be very familiar with Tekken. Or they can’t enjoy the full story. Another thing that might turn some people off. Is most of the screen time is going to the girls (Alisa Bosconovitch and Ling Xiaoyu).

Regardless, I didn’t mind at all because the chemistry and story progression with them was absolutely cute! Then finally ending it all with a epic 3 way fight was the icing on the cake.

The limited edition version of Hybrid is not worth it because of the price tag and what it comes with. 1 artbook, 2 music cds, and PSN home content (which is now defunct).

Final Scores

TEKKEN Hybrid = 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

Tekken Blood Vengeance = 🌟 🌟 🌟

Tekken Tag Tournament HD = 🌟 🌟
